These headband crowns will help you complete a perfect Bug’s life Disneybound!

I hope your craft room is already stocked with simple everyday materials like these. But if it’s not, both of these crowns together will cost about $5 to make. I purchased everything at the dollar store except the embellishments located at the bottom of the Princess Atta crown. That was from Jo-anns.

What you’ll need:

Headbands- I got a six pack from the dollar store

Pipe cleaners

Flowers and leaves

Hot glue gun and glue sticks

Embellishments: optional

For the Dot headband all you have to do is take two pipe cleaners and wrap them around the purple headband a few times to get them to the right length. Then bend the pipe cleaners at the top to curve into antennas.

Then, using hot glue, took a few purple flowers and added them around the bottom to cover up where the pipe cleaners were were wrapped. For a little extra embellishment, I added two clear beads to the end of each pipe cleaner antenna.

All done!

Next up is Atta’s crown

First decide which way you want your crown to go. You can also make a headband. I wanted mine to be different so I turned it to the side to make it more like a crown.

Then measure the crown to find the middle and put a little mark, next line up leaves evenly on both sides of the mark. I only did about four on each side but you can do more or less.

I used a brown leaf for the middle of my crown to look more natural and let’s face it, it made less supplies to purchase. You could substitute the brown leaf for a little jewel or something similar.

I needed something to fill in the bottom so I went to Jo-anns and found the embellishments I added to cover the glue from the leaves.

The last thing I did for my crown since I had decided to do the crown style as opposed to headband style, is add a couple of pipe cleaners to the underside of the crown. This helps to keep the stems from leaves from irritating your forehead and make the crown more comfortable to you.

If you would like to add antennas to this crown you can use the pipe cleaners or some wire. I would add these before the leaves to make it easier for you, but if you finish and then decide it needs a little something extra, you can still add the antennas after!

I loved how these simple and easy crowns turned a couple of regular purple dresses into adorable Disney bounds!

As soon as we were done being bugs 🐜 🐜 off went the crowns and we just had fun in our pretty purple dresses!
