I found this amazing Lion King shirt from Ross for $8! I mentioned to my husband that I wanted to get a second one for Jasmin, to cut up and make into a little dress to match and his jaw hit the ground. “You want me to buy something so you can ruin it?”😂

Sometimes you get to create something from nothing, and other times you just have to use what you got, like an adult sized shirt, because they don’t have any kids ones. I ended up not buying a second shirt, because I remembered this amazing vintage Lion King material I got a while ago at Savers.

I went home and whipped up a little something with whatever I happened to have ‘lion’ around in my craft room and came up with this easy sequin pocket tee.

These light, bright, and simple outfits were perfect for running around Toontown with NO (outfit) WORRIES for the rest of our day!!!

POCKET TEE INSTRUCTIONS:

1. I like to purchase these plain tees, and pocket tees from Wal-Mart for my crafts because they are soft and comfy and are only $2.88. ( I found a similar one at Wal-Mart.com but it is a dollar more. I find these in the toddler section, usually on one of their bookshelf type displays and not hanging up.)

2. I had leftover material from a previous craft and cut out one of the little Simbas on it. You can use whatever you would like on the pocket. You could even replace the original pocket with a Disney material pocket. I recommend using a nice fabric glue for this DIY, I used hot glue, as this was very last minute and I did not want to run to the store.

3. Embelish: I loved the look of my shirt so far, but it was a little too plain for my taste, so I grabbed some sequins from the dollar store and got busy. You could add lace, or ribbon or anything you think would make your shirt fun!

4. I folded the sleeves and put a few dabs of glue around the fold to hold it in place. You could also sew a few stitches if you prefer.

And you’re done!

We hope you get creative and enjoy doing this easy craft! As always we love seeing you #boundingonabudget so be sure to use the hashtag or tag us on Instagram!
