Mickey Button Down

I bought this Mickey button down at Forever21  and instantly fell in love. Its just so me, so vintage looking. But if I have something for me, y’all know I have to have something that matches for my lil’ Jasmin!

The great part about this DIY is that you can do it for yourself. A lot of the time my crafts are little more geared towards kids because of my two year old. It’s just too fun to dress her up, but most of my followers don’t have kids. That’s why I’m so excited that this DIY is for everyone!

I bought a white button down for a few bucks at SAVERS for Jasmin, rolled the sleeves and put a few stitches in the folds to keep them in place.

Then using my coupon from the Jo-Ann app, I purchased these Mickey and Minnie buttons and sewed them onton the shirt. Down the front and two on the collar. Easy as that!

I would suggest not putting the buttons directly in the wash though, the buttons may be affected by the machine. I would use this washing cage and hang dry the item.

Or you could get really creative and clip the back off the button, super glue a snap on it and sew the other side to the shirt. When it’s time to wash you can easily remove all the buttons and snap them back on after the wash!

Whether you want someone to match you in your Forever21 button down, you can’t afford to buy the original button down, or you want both versions, this DIY is sure to bring some EPIC Mickey Style to your wardrobe!
