One Week of Disney fun with the Kids

Having the kiddies home all day is great! But the more time they spend in the house, the more messes they make. It’s good to have some structured activities to do with them to keep their busy mess making under control!

7 Mommies, myself included, have come up with some activities and treat ideas for you. Each day there will be a different Mom’s ideas featured here. That way you have a WHOLE weeks worth of ideas! Whether you follow along this week or save this for later!

MONDAY: @gingeronmainstreet

May The Force be with you… I’m pretty sure that’s what all moms are saying to each other these days with school closed and kids cooped up in quarantine. But these Star Wars inspired snacks will make you the hero of your kid’s galaxy!

Open-Faced Yoda Face Sandwiches.  These savory snacks can be made two ways—one way for picky eaters like my young Padawan, and another more traditional way.  To make them the more traditional way YOU WILL NEED:

Cucumbers, bread, cream cheese (softened) and a packet of dry ranch dressing mix.

•The first thing I like to do is prepare my bread by cutting off the crusts (optional) and cutting the bread into 4 smaller squares.

•Next I wash and slice my cucumber into thin slices. I set these items aside until needed and then prepare my spread.

•Take the softener cream cheese and put it into a bowl.  Add the dry ranch mix and stir or mix until blended well.

•Then take your bread squares and very lightly toast them so they will be stiff enough to take the spread without tearing.

•Spread the cream cheese/ranch mixture onto the toasted bread, then place a cucumber slice on top.

•Take another cucumber slice and cut two small triangle shapes. Add these to either side of the first cucumber slice on the bread.

•Now you have a Yoda face on your Open-Faced Cucumber Sandwich!
*If your child is a little on the picky side and cream cheese is not approved by their taste buds, you can make these the same way but substitute actual ranch dressing in place of the cream cheese mixture. Now that you’ve made something so yummy that you’re kids are saying “Yoda best, mom!” it’s time to light up their life with something sweet!

For the Jedi Light Saber Pretzel Rods you will need a bag of large pretzel rods, colored candy melts, and wax paper. We chose to represent both the light and the dark sides of The Force with our snacks, and so we used blue, green and red candy melts.

•Place candy melts into a bowl. Follow instructions on the package for heating in the microwave.

•Once melted, stir, then using a spoon hold the pretzel rod over the bowl and spoon melted candy to coat the pretzel 2/3 of the way down.

•Turn pretzel around in your hand while you do this to make sure you coat it on all sides

•Place candy covered pretzels onto wax paper to dry.

•Duel with your friends and family, then snack!

Tune in tomorrow for another fun idea for you and the kiddies!

You can be prepared for tomorrow’s activity by having sugar cookie ingredients and tin foil! Hope you have fun following along!
